The actual breakfast was not quite as nice as the one in the picture, but it wasn't bad. We had bagels and toast and orange juice.
I then camped out in the lobby at 8 AM, working on the blog and waiting for the FedEx guy. I called the BofA to make sure it the cards had gone out, but the answer was ambiguous.Lena spelled me at 10, and at 10:45 FedEx pulled up with our new cards. Much rejoicing, and we were ready to resume our trip.
So off we went across South Dakota, flying along at 75 MPH. We made the obligatory stop at the "World's Only" Corn Palace, in Mitchell, SD, which has been redecorated with corn parts annually since 1890.

Mitchell is a small town, but they have a modern mass transit system:
The overpriced cornball was quite tasty.
We got one of the last campsites at the American Creek campground in Chamberlain, SD. It was a nice place on the edge of the Missouri River.

We rode our bikes into town and got food for dinner and breakfast, and had a good nights sleep.Thunderstorm adventure coming up in the next post!
After the obligatory visit to the corn palace, we stayed in the same campground in Chamberlain. This was on a trip with my BIL's family. We met up with a friend of his who was canoeing up the Missouri river, after taking a convoluted route from northern Wisconsin. He had his dog with too. My BIL brought his clippers and gave him a haircut. I think he was headed the "wrong way" but he successfully ended his trip in Montana a couple of months later.
